Ginger Baker: Rock ‘n’ roll’s living madman.
A documentary about the drummer’s life has been made by Jay Bulger, who spent over three months in Baker’s home in South Africa. He’s resided there since 1999 and he lives (somewhat unsurprisingly) with a 27 year old girlfriend and 39 polo ponies.
The former backbone for Cream and Blind Faith is now 73 and suffering from emphysema and a sadly ironic degenerative spine condition.
“God is punishing me for my past wickedness by keeping me alive and in as much pain as he can.”
